Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy uses functional activity as a basis for rehabilitation and learning new ways to regain independence in Activities of Daily Living. ADLs range from basic activities - self-feeding, toileting, home management, dressing, and meal preparation - to hobbies such as painting or playing the piano.
Our skilled full-time occupational therapy staff help patients regain function due to disease or injury - and have received special training in hand and shoulder injuries and dysfunctions, as well as the rehabilitation of neurological impairments. Occupational therapy services include:
Aquatic Therapy
Our innovative aquatic therapy program is administered by our physical therapists and a physical therapist assistant - with an Aquatic Certification through the Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute.
Designed by our therapists especially for our community, the 12 x 20-foot therapy pool ranges from 3.5 to 7 feet in depth and is kept at 91° F. Resistive water jets accommodate a variety of patients. Aquatic therapy advantages:
Speech and Language Pathology
Our highly skilled staff helps patients with cognitive disorders such as the inability to comprehend or reason, memory loss, and loss of judgment; communication disorders, such as difficulty expressing oneself, understanding others, or finding the right word; and swallowing disorders, including coughing or choking at meals, loss of motor control necessary for chewing, delayed swallow reflex, and aspiration of food.
